A Letter from Our Owner
Hello! I am licensed by the State of Maryland Department of Education and have over 16 years of experience. I am the proud owner of Scottsbury Home Daycare in Germantown, MD. I am passionate about giving every child in my care a happy, healthy, and safe time in my home at a reasonable cost. Unlike other daycare facilities and pre-schools, I strive to care and educate your child as part of my own family. I offer quality childcare with age appropriate activities, meals, and snacks. I also always have one other helper with me to ensure that your child will never be unattended.
In mind of giving my own children the best care possible, I decided to start a home daycare that would be filled with the warmth of a normal household. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and many certificates in child care. I have training in SIDS, CPR, and First Aid courses. I also trained in Child Growth and Development and Infant/Toddler Curriculum Planning. I believe that an early childhood educator can create a positive influence on a child’s self-esteem and encourages pro-social values. I am continuing to educate myself in child development and early childhood education every year.
My home is in walking distance from Sally K. Ride Elementary School and my hours are adjustable to provide the most convenient option for your family. I love keeping parents up to date with their child’s development every day and am always available to talk about any problems, concerns, or issues.

Our Testamonials from Parents
Your happiness and peace of mind are why we have been in business for more than 16 years. Read some of our testamonials below, from Parents of the Children who have attended our daycare.
“My family and I are truly blessed to have found a provider like her. My daughter has been attending since she was 1 1/2…. she is now 8. The thing that I love is that she loves each one of the kids and she is all about education. She does not just sit the kids in front of the tv. she invests in each child. She takes time to teach them, they learn to visually identify letters, the sound each one makes, numbers, adding and subtracting etc… my daughter was able to read short stories by the age 3. I recommend her to anyone that’s looking for a daycare. We got lucky in finding her.”

“I am so thankful we found this provider. My youngest has been at Scottsbury since she was 3 months old. This is not at all your stereotypical home daycare provider. The kids watch very little tv, have plenty of space to run and play, real food, outdoor play when weather permits–it is a wonderful environment for little ones. They do circle time and early leaning preschool activities daily. My child could identify all her letters before age 2, and at age 3 counts to 100 without help and writes her full name unassisted. She is learning early reading skills, working on “sight words” now. I had always envisioned putting her in a preschool program at age 3 or 4, but she’s doing so well here that I honestly don’t see the need. Provider is honest, trustworthy, very dependable, has a great assistant, very clean home with large separate space for the daycare. Absolutely wonderful!”

“Zoe’s teacher contacted me back in October to let me know that she had already met her end of year reading benchmark and was ready to move on to the first grade reading level. No one else in her class is that far along, so she actually goes into another classroom for reading group with a couple other kids who have also moved on to the first grade reading level. I just wanted to say thanks. I think she is a bright kid and I know we have supported her learning, but you were there supporting her for 5 years, too, and she gained a very solid reading foundation with you.”

“After I had my daughter in 2008, I was really struggling with having to go back to work full-time and finding someone I trusted to care for my baby. I looked around at some centers and several home day cares and nothing felt “right.” But as soon as I walked in to this provider’s home, I knew that this was a place where both I and my daughter could feel safe. My daughter started there at about 4 months and stayed until age two, when we moved from the area. We both always felt at home there and I appreciated the honesty and kindness of the provider and her assistants. It’s a well-run business that treated us like family — something that was very important to me. Although it was 6 years ago, I remember crying when I told the provider that we were moving and would have to leave. I highly recommend this place!”
